the journey

The Journey

A crowd acceleration platform for impact driven actions

ardkon was born in Lebanon, in years when the ground itself seemed to ask something of everyone standing on it. Streets filled, an economy unraveled, forests burned in the mountains. And on August 4th, 2020, the Beirut port explosion tore through the city. Everywhere, ordinary people organized faster than any institution could. What they lacked was not will. It was tools.

So we built them. ardkon became a crowd acceleration platform: a place where grassroots initiatives could fundraise and livestream actions that created a positive impact on the society, environment and economy they wished to serve. Fundraising concerts like One for Beirut in Canada, Unity for Lebanon and The Paramount streamed artists from Montreal to Beirut, turning distance into solidarity and tickets into relief.

Let’s turn public demands into people’s assets…

We believed in equal opportunity for grassroots actions to be transparent, visible and supported, and those three words became the pillars of everything ardkon did. Actions were small by design: a single effort, a defined outcome, a fund allocation anyone could follow. Decentralized crowdfunding and open ledgers pointed toward something we called decentralized grassroots organizations: communities that own their own decisions, and their own assets.

ardkon ran on volunteering and donations, and on the conviction that the people closest to a problem are the ones best placed to solve it. That conviction never ended. The platform completed its chapter; the work of building tools for communities carried on into what we build today. The land remains. Your land. Be.
